The GIFT Foundation was formed as a non-profit trust on the Pongal day of 1998. The GIFT Foundation’s first project was the establishment of AGN SCHOOL in 1998-99 with the help of Tamil Nadu Foundation Inc., USA. APPU ARIVAALAYEM CBSE Secondary School was started in 2011-12. Our AGN SCHOOL COMMUNITY RADIO STATION started broadcast service in 2014. In addition, the Trust has contributed to the following causes.

Under Self-Sufficiency Scheme, contributed funds to construct the compound wall at Panchayat Union Elementary School, Manjakkalpatti. The project was sponsored by our patron Tr. Mani Rajendran, USA, for his alma mater.

Donated to Kalari Heritage & Charitable Trust, to help publish the second edition of the book Arungkoothu about our rural folk arts such as ‘Koothu’ ‘Pavai Koothu’ ‘Bommalattam’, and their artistes.

03.

The Trust organised a book-release function, in which the Vice Chancellor of Periyar University released the historical book titled Thomas Manroe in Kongu Land by Idappadi Amuthan and acquired 100 copies of the book.

Contributed funds towards publication of the first of its kind ‘Colloquial Language Dictionary for Kongu, This book secured Best Publication in year 2000 award in its category by Tamilnadu Govt.

05.

Contributed funds to Kongu Research Centre, Erode, to help their research on ancient inscriptions. Part of the funds were used to publish the social history book, ‘Kongu vellalar Seerkalum, Ilakkiankalum’.

Contributed funds to U.V.Saminatha Iyyer Trust Chennai to support the publication old Tamil manuscripts..

Donated student desks and benches to Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Magudanchavadi. Contributed initial funds to help start Govt.Girls High School at Konganapuram and then to upgrade it to Higher Secondary School. Also, contributed funds to upgrade Govt. Middle School to High School at Vaikuntham.

08.

Annual contribution and coordination support to Konganapuram Foundation towards conducting the Mutthu Marathon’, the oldest marathon in Tamildau.

09.

Donated to Sevagan Trust, Salem, in appreciation of their contribution to the society.

10.

Donated to Si. Subhashini Palanisami, a Paralympic athelete from Idappadi.
